Naturally, every industry and business is unique, and understanding how to leverage your marketing as a service-based business is key. Read on for our top five tips for advertising your service-based business.
1. Tidy up your social media.
An obvious one, but one that often still gets overlooked. Instagram is used a lot like Google these days, and with the recent app updates, the platform is making it even easier for service-based businesses to establish themselves and reach new people.
Make your profile easy to find by including your name and business offering or keywords in your handle and bio.
Create a location for your business to appear on Instagram’s map and allow people to check in.
Maintain your highlights to feature key information such as: service menu, trading hours, meet the team, about the business, and testimonials.
Be timely where possible in responding to questions sent through comments and DM’s.
2. Keep your Google Listing & Website updated
If you haven’t already, ensure you’ve set up “Google My Business” so you’re able to manage your business’s online presence across Google, including Search and Maps. Use this space to tell your story, share relevant photos, verify and edit your latest business information. If possible, encourage clients to leave positive reviews to increase your credibility.
3. Facebook ads
It goes without saying that Facebook ads are one of the most effective ways to quickly get in front of potential clients, particularly if you’re a brick and mortar store that can utilize hyper local targeting. Advertise promotions and explore lead generation ads to grow your database. If you’re not ready to start advertising through Facebook, boosted posts can be a good solution for most business types and managed through your Instagram account. 4. Nurture client relationships
Whether it’s maintaining your relationship with existing clients or nurturing potential clients, just about every business needs some form of Customer-Relations Management system in place. Whether it’s through email, messaging, calling or a third party platform, look at effective flow setups for your unique business and service to maintain a loyal client base, collect reviews, and assist potential clients to convert.
5. Creative collaborations
Influencers can be a great tool to utilise for many types of service businesses, especially if you can source people who’s audiences are very similar to your target market. They don’t always have to cost either - look at offering services in exchange for content and mentions. Remember, influencers aren’t the only way! Collaborate with complimentary businesses or businesses in your area to increase awareness, look at running a collaborative giveaway to grow your following, create offers for businesses with a similar target audience - the opportunities are endless when you think outside of the box and get creative.
